Nijat Kazimov

Photographe de rue et fondateur de Street Photography France, auteur des livres Le Manifeste du Street Photographer et L’Egonomie du Street Photographer Nijat Kazimov a commencé son parcours professionnel durant ses années universitaires en tant qu’éditeur dans une maison d’édition. Après l’obtention de son diplôme, il a intégré la Cour européenne des droits de l’homme, quittant ainsi le monde de l’édition. Ce tournant professionnel a laissé en lui un vide créatif, qui l’a naturellement conduit vers la photographie de rue.

Depuis le 1er janvier 2023, il a eu l’honneur d’être élu responsable de la branche photographie de l’Amicale du Conseil de l’Europe. Nourri d’une passion inébranlable, son projet Street Photography France vise à raviver l’héritage souvent oublié de la photographie de rue française. Le XXe siècle a vu naître des géants du genre, mais aujourd’hui, cet art peine à retrouver sa place dans le paysage culturel. À travers son initiative, Nijat s’engage avec ferveur à redonner à cet art sa pleine résonance, en lui insufflant une nouvelle énergie et en rendant hommage à ses maîtres disparus.

En janvier 2025, il a pris une décision radicale : quitter toutes ses fonctions professionnelles pour consacrer pleinement sa vie à Street Photography France. Plus qu’un projet, il s’agit désormais pour lui d’un véritable chemin de vie, guidé par l’amour de l’image, le respect de la mémoire collective et la conviction que la rue a encore mille histoires à raconter.

Street photographer and founder of Street Photography France, author of the books Le Manifeste du Street Photographer and L’Egonomie du Street Photographer, Nijat Kazimov began his professional journey during his university years as an editor in a publishing house. After graduating, he joined the European Court of Human Rights, thus leaving the world of publishing. This career shift left a creative void in him, which naturally led him to street photography.

Since January 1, 2023, he has had the honor of being elected head of the photography branch of the Council of Europe’s Staff Association. Fueled by an unshakable passion, his project Street Photography France aims to revive the often-forgotten legacy of French street photography. The 20th century gave rise to giants of the genre, but today, this art struggles to reclaim its place in the cultural landscape. Through his initiative, Nijat is passionately committed to restoring this art to its full resonance, breathing new energy into it and paying tribute to its departed masters.

In January 2025, he made a radical decision: to leave all his professional roles to devote his life entirely to Street Photography France. More than a project, it has now become a true life path for him—guided by a love of imagery, a respect for collective memory, and a deep conviction that the street still has a thousand stories to tell.
